In addition to being an accomplished attorney, Elaine Blackwood, has taken specialized training in mediation and arbitration and a strong background in workplace investigations.  She uses this background to conduct mediations and arbitrations that resolve issues before they snowball into costly litigation.  She has trained with several of New York’s most powerful mediators and arbitrators and uses their insights as well as her own experience to bring closure to festering conflicts and often new understanding between participants.

Approach

  • The approach recognizes that an outside mediator, arbitrator, or investigator can often resolve issues and gather information more readily than in-house employees.
  • Ms. Blackwood appreciates that employee behaviors can affect their organization’s bottom line;
  •  Ms. Blackwood is aware that if matters are not resolved quickly, organizations can face legal exposure and damaging publicity and escalation of problematic behaviors.
